Current Context: United Nation Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), the UN’s trade body has released ‘World Investment Report 2020’.
World Investment Report 2020
  • As per the report, India has become the 9th largest recipient of Foreign Direct investment for 2019.
  • In 2019, India has received $51 billion as FDI.
  • As compared to 2018, there’s been an increase of 20% in FDI.
  • As per the report, among South Asian countries, India has topped the list of the largest recipient of Foreign Direct investment for 2019.
  • The overall report is topped by the United States with $246 billion of FDI in 2019 followed by China with $141 billion of FDI in 2019.
