Current Context: Union Minister of State for Defence Shripad Yesso Naik inaugurated the fifth edition of the conference on Aerospace and Defence Manufacturing Technologies.
- The theme for the conference was: Empowering India with Aatma Nirbhar Bharat Mission.
- The conference was organized by Tamil Nadu Technology Development and Promotion Centre (TNTDPC), Society of Indian Defence Manufacturers (SIDM) and Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).
- The members in the conference discussed to uplift the Indian aerospace and defence sector by manufacturing aerospace and defence equipment in India itself and thus to make India a self-reliant defence production country.
- The Union Minister of State for Defence also stated to achieve the target of 26 billion US dollar domestic production by 2025 and has expected that aerospace and defence industry in India to reach around 70 billion dollars by 2030.
