Current Context: IIT Delhi has signed MoU with TRIFED (Tribal Co-operative Marketing Development Federation of India) for Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA) which comes under the flagship of HRD Ministry, GOI.
- The partnership will work to boost livelihood opportunities and income source for the tribal community.
- Both the entities will develop new processing technologies, product innovative technologies for tribal community and mentorship to the tribals to utilize digital systems.
- The UBA programme will connect higher educational institutes in order to uplift the tribal community in terms of their economic and social development.
- The associated entities in this initiative will promote to enhance the livelihood of tribes via Van Dhan Vikas Kendras, developed under Van Dhan Yojana.
