Current Context: AYUSH Ministry’s National Medicinal Plants Board (NMPB) has signed an MoU with the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR)- National Bureau of Plant Genetic Resources (NBPGR).
- The MoU between two entities is signed with an aim to conserve Medicinal and Aromatic Plants Genetic Resources (MAPGRs).
- The preservation and conservation of MAPGRs will take place at ICAR- NBPGR.
- For the purpose of preservation and conservation of MAPGRs, ICAR-NBPGR has designed space as a storage module in the National Gene Bank and Regional Station.
- The professionals working in preservation of MAPGRs will be provided with the training.
- The professionals will thus develop modalities for seed storage of MAPGRS and will be responsible for submitting in reports for same.
