Current Context: National Payment Corporation of India has rolled out a feature for recurring payments. The feature is known as ‘UPI Autopay’.
- The ‘Unified Payment Interface (UPI) Autopay’ was launched virtually at Global Fintech Fast event.
- With the help of UPI application, it will enable recurring of e-mandate of recurring payments like mobile phone bills, electricity bills etc.
- It will also carry out EMI payments upto Rs 2000 and for above Rs 2000 EMI payments, the user will have to execute UPI PIN for every EMI transaction above Rs 2000.
- To enroll to this facility, the user will have to create e-mandate via UPI ID, QR Scan or Intent.
