5th Swachh Survekshan Awards 2020

Current Context: Swachh Survekshan Awards 2020 was announced by Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri.

The awards were announced in the ‘Swachh Mahotsav’ which was organized by Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs.
Indore has won the cleanest city award for the 4th consecutive year.
Following is the list of the awards under each category:

Cleanest City with a population above 1 lakh:- Indore (Madhya Pradesh)
Cleanest City with a population below 1 lakh:- Karad (Maharashtra)
Cleanest state with more than 100 cities:- Chhattisgarh
Cleanest state with less than 100 cities:- Jharkhand
Cleanest Ganga Town:- Varanasi (Uttar Pradesh)
Cleanest megacity with more than 40 lakh population:- Ahmedabad (Gujrat)
Best self-sustainable city with a population above 40 lakh:- Bengaluru (Karnataka) & Vijayawada (Andhra Pradesh)
Fast-moving city with respect to cleanliness:- Jodhpur (Rajasthan)
Self-sustainable city with respect to cleanliness with a population more than 10 lakh:- Rajkot (Gujrat)
Self-sustainable city with respect to cleanliness with a population less than 10 lakh:- Mysuru (Karnataka)
Cleanest small city:- Ambikapur (Chhattisgarh)
