Current Context: On the occasion of 74th Independence Day of India, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched National Digital Health Mission.
National Digital Health Mission

  • The aim behind this National Digital Health Mission is to revolutionize the health sector of India. 
  • Under this mission, every citizen of India will be given a unique health identity card.
  • With the help of this card, every citizen will get access to the health care benefits during their visit to doctors.
  • The holders of the cards will get access to health services remotely.
  • The National Digital Health Mission, features and focusses on Tele-consultation and E-Pharmacies. 
  • The health identity card will be having all the medical and health data of the user. 
  • Initially, the mission will be launched in Union Territories and after that, the mission will be rolled out in Indian States as well.
  • The National Digital Health Mission comes under Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB PM-JAY).
