Current Context: The 10th Defence Technology and Trade Initiative (DTTI) Group Meeting was held virtually between India and the United States.
10th DTTI Group Meet between India and US

  • India was represented by Raj Kumar, Secretary of Defence Production, Ministry of Defence and the United States were represented by Ellen M Lord, Secretary of Defence for Acquisition and Sustainment, US Department of Defence.
  • In the meet, a Statement of Intent (SoI) was signed between two nation’s Defence delegations. 
  • The SoI is signed to strengthen bilateral dialogue on defence technology cooperation between India and the US.
  • To achieve the motto of SoI, the dignitaries assured to pursue detail planning and make measurable progress by coordinating with each other.
  • The DTTI meet aims to achieve sustain leadership by focusing on bilateral defence trade relations between India and the US. It also aims to create opportunities for co-production and co-development of defence equipment.
  • Under DTTI, four joint working groups namely, land, naval, air and aircraft carrier technologies are established in order to conduct projects in their respective domains.
