24th Global Economic Freedom Index 2020

Current Context: Canada’s Fraser Institute in partnership with Centre for Civil Society, New Delhi based think tank has released Global Economic Freedom Index 2020.

• As per the Global Economic Freedom Index 2020, India is ranked at 105th position.
• The ranking position is topped by Hong Kong.
• The second and third position is ranked by Singapore and New Zealand respectively.
• The least rank position is marked by Venezuela.
• The report is published by the CATO Institute of America in association with more than 70 think tanks in the world.
• The index is measured in 5 broad areas with respect to Degree of freedom: (1) Size of Government (2) Legal System and Property Rights (3) Sound Money (4) Freedom to take Internationally (5) Regulation.
