Current Context: IIT Roorkee has signed MoU with National Institute of Urban Affairs (NIUA).
IIT Roorkee signs MoU with NIUA

  • The MoU is signed to work in the areas of universal design principles and to have the development of BASIIC (Building Accessible Safe Inclusive Indian Cities), which is the initiative programme of NIUA.
  • Both the entities will engage in this with all their technical support in order to make Indian cities more accessible, safe for living.
  • IIT Roorkee and NIUA will collaboratively work in field policy research, knowledge creation, capacity development in order to build safe and smart cities.
  • They will also strengthen the emerging possibilities toward urban inclusion by exchanging their R&D works.
