- The ‘Mukhyamantrir Grammya Paribhan Achoni Yojana’ belongs to state transport department.
- Under this yojana, light motor vehicle service will be provided villages of Assam in order to improve rural connectivity and to generate employment.
- The light motor vehicle will be provided to one beneficiary of each village.
- In the first stance of scheme, 10,000 villages will be covered under funds of Rs 100 crore.
- The state government will provide 25% cost of the vehicle or Rs 1 lakh to the eligible entrepreneur.
- In future, the yojana will be offering rural connectivity to about 26000 villages of Assam.
