‘Mukhyamantrir Grammya Paribhan Achoni Yojana’—Assam

Current Context: Government of Assam launched ‘Mukhyamantrir Grammya Paribhan Achoni Yojana’.

The ‘Mukhyamantrir Grammya Paribhan Achoni Yojana’ belongs to state transport department.
Under this yojana, light motor vehicle service will be provided villages of Assam in order to improve rural connectivity and to generate employment.
The light motor vehicle will be provided to one beneficiary of each village.
In the first stance of scheme, 10,000 villages will be covered under funds of Rs 100 crore.
The state government will provide 25% cost of the vehicle or Rs 1 lakh to the eligible entrepreneur.
In future, the yojana will be offering rural connectivity to about 26000 villages of Assam.
