National Generic Document Registration System—Jammu and Kashmir

Lieutenant Governor of Union Territory Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha launched the National Generic Document Registration System (NGDRS). 
  • The NGDRS is the shift from a manual registration system to the online registration system launched for having online registration and transactions for sale-purchase of land.
  • NGDRS is developed by National Informatics Centre under the Digital India Land Records Modernization Programme
  • Also, the stamp papers are replaced by e-stamps which are developed in coordination with Stockholding Corporation of India.
  • After launching NGDRS, J&K has become 10th in the state/UT to be the part of NGDRS.
  • NGDRS will provide transparency in registration and transactions related to land, hassle-free service delivery, online process for uploading documents without having a manual visit at the registration office for submission
  • The entire process is reduced to 15 minutes and with minimum personal visit to the registration office
  • NGDRS is the one forward step towards National Integration and towards, ‘One Nation, One Software’ goal.
