Smart City Index 2020

Current Context: The Smart City Index 2020 is released by the Institute for Management Development in collaboration with Singapore University for Technology and Design.

• Total 109 Indian cities are surveyed in Smart City Index 2020, by considering the perceptions of 120 residents of each city. 
• The smart city index is based on the data for economic and technology availability and development in the cities. This data is collected from residents of the city.
• The Smart City Index 2020 is topped by Singapore.
• The second and third rank is marked by Helsinki and Zurich respectively.
• From India, Hyderabad has topped among all Indian cities, with the rank of 85th position.
• Other rank position for Indian cities: New Delhi (86th Rank), Mumbai (93rd Rank), Bengaluru (95th Rank). 
• As per the analysis of Smart City Index 2020, Indian cities have witnessed a decline in their rank position compared to previous estimations.
