Current Context: The first-ever Ministerial meeting of G20 Anti-Corruption Working Group was held.
1st Ministerial Meet of G20 Anti-Corruption Working Group
  • The meeting was dressed by Jitendra Singh, Union Minister of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions. 
  • Saudi Arabia hosted the meeting and thus become the first country to host the G20 Anti-Corruption Working Group meeting. 
  • Union Minister Jitendra Singh mentioned that India is truly committed to the policy of zero tolerance against corruption and unaccounted money.
  • He mentioned about India’s policies like Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act 2018 and Fugitive Economic Offenders Act 2018 in combating corruption. 
  • He also highlighted India’s initiative to operationalize Lokpal to check corruption.
  • Static Part: The G20 Anti-Corruption Working Group was formed in June 2010 at G20 Summit held in Toronto.
