ADB offers Finance Support to Develop Rajasthan’s Secondary Towns

Current Context: The Government of India and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) has signed a loan agreement to improve various facilities total 14 secondary towns of Rajasthan. 
ADB offers Finance Support to Develop Rajasthan’s Secondary Towns
  • The loan agreement of $300 million is signed between ADB and GOI. 
  • Under this loan amount, sustainable water supply and sanitation (WSS) services and infra will be developed in Rajasthan’s secondary towns. 
  • This will ensure improved WSS services in line with the urban sector development plan of the Rajasthan government.
  • Under this project, at least 8 towns will be improved with water supply services by 2027, which will prove beneficial to more than 570,000 citizens and sanitation services at 14 secondary towns will prove beneficial to about 720,000 citizens.
