Current Context: India successfully tests fired SANT Missile (Standoff Anti-Tank Missile) from Integrated Test Range (ITR) off Odisha coast.
India successfully Test Fired ‘SANT’ Missile
  • It was tested from a rooftop launcher of the ground-based platform.
  • SANT Missile is developed by DRDO for India Air Force and is the upgraded version of anti-tank missile named HeliNa (Helicopter Launched Nag).
  • SANT Missile is additionally equipped with the advanced node-mounted seeker. 
  • SANT Missile is equipped with Lock-on After Launch and Lock-on Before Launch capabilities. 
  • It can hit the target from a range of 15 to 20km away.
