Current Context: The 3rd India-US 2+2 Dialogue is conducted on 27th Oct 2020.
India-US 2+2 Ministerial Dialogue
  • The dialogue is held to discuss global, bilateral and regional issues between India and the United States. 
  • The meet is attended by US Secretary of Defence, Mark T. Esper and US Secretary of State, Michael R. Pompeo. India is represented by Defence Minister, Rajnath Singh and External Affairs Minister, S Jaishankar. 
  • During this meet, both the nations will be signing BECA Agreement (Basic Exchange and Cooperation Agreement for Geo-Spatial Cooperation). 
  • This agreement will allow India to access extremely accurate geo-spatial data. 
  • This spatial data will be having military applications which will improve the accuracy of India’s missile systems. 
  • BECA is the agreement between National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency of the US Defence Department and Indian Union Ministry of Defence.
  • Under this agreement, both nations will be able to share important military information like advanced satellite and topographical data, geophysical data, geodetic data, geomagnetic data, gravitational data and nautical and aeronautical charts.
