Current Context: The Indian Sign Language Research and Training Centre (ISLRTC) has signed MoU with National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) with an aim to make

educational materials accessible to hearing-impaired children. 
  • This will prove highly beneficial to the students having difficulty in speaking or hearing and will thus lead to educate and empower differently abled students.
  • Under this MoU, NCERT notes in Indian languages will make educational contents available to hearing-impaired students in Indian Sign Languages.
  • All the academic contents will be converted into Digital Sign Languages, which will allow the access of NCERT notes to the hearing impaired students. 
  • The MoU is signed to fulfill the aim of UNICEF’s initiative of ‘Accessible Digital Textbooks for All’.
