Swachh Bharat Awards 2020

Current Context: Union Jal Shakti Minister, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat and Minister of State for Jal Shakti, Rattan Lal Khataria announced and conferred the Swachh Bharat Awards 2020 to

the best performing states/UTs, Gram Panchayats, Districts and Blocks. 

• The awards were presented under cleanliness and drinking water categories. 
• The categories under which Swachh Bharat Awards 2020 were given are: (1) Swachh Sundar Samudayik Shauchalaya (SSSS) Campaign (2) Samudayik Shauchalaya Abhiyan (SSA) (3) Gandagi se Mukt Campaign. 
• Swachh Sundar Samudayik Shauchalaya (SSSS) Campaign: Gujarat (Best State), Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu (Best District), Kachrod, Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh (Best Block) Chinnaur (Best Gram Panchayat). 
• Samudayik Shauchalaya Abhiyan (SSA): Uttar Pradesh (GKRA- Garib Kalyan Rojgar Abhiyan) and Gujarat (Non GKRA) (Best State), Prayagraj (GKRA) and Bareilly (Non GKRA) (Best district), Borigaon, Bongaigaon, Assam (Best Gram Panchayat).
• Gandagi se Mukt Campaign: Telangana and Haryana (Best State), Moga, Punjab (Best District).
