- The initiative is launched with an aim to develop entrepreneurship skills, soft skills, Information Technology (IT) skills and Business Development in the tribal community.
- The initiative aims to make tribal community self-reliant.
- For this initiative, TRIFED has joined hands with MSME ministry under the ESDP initiative (Entrepreneurship Skill Development Programme).
- The ‘Tech for Tribals’ initiative will provide 6-weeks long training to the beneficiaries. The training module is framed by IIT-Kanpur.
- The ‘Tech for Tribals’ initiative is based on three pillars of Engagement, Capacity Building and Market Linkages. The initiate will focus to make tribal community educated with IT technology, business and market skills so that they can increase their source of income and become a self-reliant community.
- The initiative will be operated through SHGs which are under Van Dhan Vikas Kendras (VDVKs). The Van Dhan beneficiaries in all districts of Chhattisgarh will be given training for micro-enterprise setup, its management and promotion.
