10th National Science Film Festival

Current Context: The 10th edition of National Science Film Festival was held from 24th Nov to 27th Nov in a virtual mode amidst of Coronavirus pandemic.

• The festival was organized by Vigyan Prasar in partnership with Tripura State Council of Science and Technology.
• The festival showcased the science-based films made by professionals, amateur and student filmmakers. 
• These films were based on various themes like Science and technology, environment, agriculture, renewable energy, water management, health and drugs and technological innovations. 
• The festival was inaugurated by Deputy Chief Minister of Tripura Jishnu DevVerma. 
• The National Science Film Festival is held with an aim to promote science culture in India.
• Around 372 films were enrolled for showcasing in the festival. Out of which 115 films were shortlisted by the jury members to be screened during the festival.
• The films were in languages like Hindi, English, Urdu, Malayalam, Kashmiri, Bengali, Marathi, Punjabi and Tamil. 
• The films were in the form of documentaries, biography, short films, docu-dramas, science fiction and animation films.
