40th Meet of SAARC Central Bank Governors Meet

Current Context: The 40th Meeting of the SAARCFINANCE Governors' Group was held virtually.

• The meeting was held under the chairmanship of Reserve Bank of India Governor, Shaktikanta Das.
• The current chairmanship of SAARCFINANCE is with Reserve Bank of India.
• The meeting was attended by Governors of SAARC Central Banks. 
• During the meet, RBI Governor inaugurated the SAARCFINANCE Sync, which is a closed user group secure communication network.
• RBI Governor highlighted to develop close partnership and to boost cooperation among SAARC Member countries in order to fight COVID-19 pandemic situation.
• The dignitaries reviewed the macroeconomic situation in the SAARC region and held discussions about current SAARCFINANCE initiatives.
