Current Context: The Andhra Pradesh Government launched ‘Abhayam App’.

• The app is launched for the safety of women travellers through Auto and Taxi. 
• With the help of this app, women will be able to raise an alarm during any emergency case.
• The ‘Abhayam App’ is basically a first IoT based women safety project app. 
• During the first phase, 1000 autos and rickshaws are equipped with GPS and IoT based devices which are linked to this app in Visakhapatnam. 
• The transport department of the state will manage the operation of the app.
