- It is developed by European Space Agency (ESA), NASA, European Organisation for the Exploitation of Meteorological Satellites (Eumetsat), the USA’s National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), France’s National Centre for Space Studies (CNES) and EU.
- It was launched in SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket from Space Launch Complex 4E at Vandenberg Air Force Base in California.
- It will perform sea-level observations and accordingly will provide measurements on global sea-level rise.
- The satellite is named after Michael Freilich, who is an Earth scientist.
