  • Chief Minister of Kerala inaugurated India’s first solar energy powered miniature train at the Veli Tourist Village of Kerala. This train is the part of Rs 60 crore projects which are undertaken to develop facilities of Veli tourist village to international standards. The miniature train is developed with an outlay of Rs 10 crore. Also, an urban park (Rs 5 crore) and a swimming pool (Rs 2.5 crore) at the eco-friendly tourist village was inaugurated by the CM.
  • GOI has injected Rs 670 crore in RRBs with an aim to strengthen its capital base. The capital support is provided under the Centre’s current scheme for the recapitalization of RRBs. Because of the capital infusion, about one-third of 43 RRBs who are suffering losses mostly from north-eastern and eastern regions will be able to meet their regulatory capital requirements of 9%.
