Inter-Ministerial Approval Committee meeting.
- In this meeting, the minister approved 29 projects leveraging the investment of Rs 443 crores.
- Under this projects, Rs 189 crore was allocated to the Scheme of Integrated Cold Chain and Value Addition and Rs 15 crores was allocated to the BFL (Backward and Forward Linkages) scheme which is the part of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Sampada Yojana.
- These projects will be generating 15,000 employment opportunities which will be beneficial to around 2 lakh Indian farmers.
- The projects will be implemented in 10 Indian states namely, Punjab, Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Kerala, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Telangana, Nagaland.
- These projects are approved with an aim to provide effective and seamless backward and forward integration for the processed food industry by making the availability of the raw material and linkage with the market. Also, these projects will benefit farmers.
