MoU between India and Spain in Astronomy- Approved by Union Cabinet

Current Context: The MoU between India and Spain in the field of Astronomy, was approved by Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

• The MoU is signed to develop scientific and technical cooperation between both nations in the Astronomy sector.
• MoU agreement is signed by Indian Institute of Astrophysics and Instituto de Astrofiscia de Canarias of Spain.
• Activities related to Astronomy sector like New Technologies, New Scientific results, Joint Scientific Projects and the Capacity building will be collaboratively handled under this MoU by India and Spain
• Also, both the nation will conduct collaborative research training, programmes, seminars and conference in order to increase scientific interaction among the experts.
