Current Context: Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of various development projects to be conducted in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh.

• The development projects are related to agriculture, tourism and infrastructure.
• Project costing is Rs 614 crore.
• The inaugurated projects are: Upgradation of Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital Ramnagar, sewerage related works, infrastructure facilities for protection and conservation of cows, a housing complex for players in Sampurnanand Stadium, multipurpose seed storehouse and Sarnath Light and Sound show.
• PM Modi laid the foundation stone for projects like: Redevelopment of Dashashwamedh Ghat and Khidkiya Ghat, redevelopment of a multipurpose hall in Girija Devi Sanskritik Samkul, building barracks for PAC Police force and repair activities for roads.
