‘Digital Ocean’ App and Web Platform—By INCOIS

Current Context: The Indian National Centre for Ocean Information System (INCOIS) has developed a Digital Ocean app and a platform (www.do.incois.gov.in).

• The Digital Ocean app and platform is basically a set of applications which helps to organise and present heterogeneous oceanographic data by adopting geospatial technology.
• It was launched by Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Science and Technology, Earth Sciences, Dr Harsh Vardhan.
• It is proved to be the first of its kind platform for ocean data management purpose. 
• It has also lead a contribution to the Digital India initiative of GOI. 
• It is a one-stop solution to the data related to the ocean.
• The data from this platform and app will prove beneficial to various research institutes, operational agencies in the ocean sector, strategic users, policymakers, maritime industries and to academic institutions.
