Current Context: Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually addressed the IIT 2020 Global Summit.

• The summit was organized by PanIIT USA, which is an all-volunteer team of IIT alumni. 
• The theme for IIT 2020 Global Summit was: ‘The Future is Now’.
• The summit was also attended by Union Education Minister, Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank.
• The summit observed the discussions about the global economy, technology, innovation, health and New Education Policy 2020.
• PM Modi addressed the summit with ‘Reform, Perform, Transform’ principle of GOI. 
• He also urged the IITians to share their views to celebrate the 75th Indian independence.
