NABARD signed MoU with SBI

Current Context: The Karnataka Regional Office of NABARD has signed MoU with SBI to take up intervention projects in Karnataka.

• Both NABARD and SBI will provide finance facility for watershed development projects and tribal development projects.
• The MoU will be beneficial to around 45000 people from 260 FPOs in 28 districts of Karnataka and to 8500 beneficiaries from SHGs. 
• SBI will implement an agency which will digitize the SHGs and upload their data on E-Shakti Portal of state government.
• Each branch of SBI will offer finance to Joint liability groups and SHGs annually.
