Current Context: The World Bank has given approval to 4 Indian Projects.
World Bank Approved Support to 4 Indian Projects
  • For this purpose, World Bank to offer worth over the US $800 million to support development initiatives. 
  • The approved projects are:
    • $400 million for Second Accelerating India’s COVID-19 Social Protection Response Program. This funds will help India to provide social assistance to people who are severely affected by the pandemic
    • $100 million Chhattisgarh Inclusive Rural and Accelerated Agriculture Growth project (CHIRAAG). This will help the community of Chhattisgarh to practice the production of nutritious food and to develop a sustainable production system.
    • $68 million for Nagaland’s Enhancing Classroom Teaching and Resources project. This will help to strengthen education facilities in Nagaland.
    • $250 million for DRIP-2 (Second Dam Improvement and Rehabilitation) project. It will help to improve safety and performances of existing dams in India.
