148th Session of WHO Executive Board

Current Context: The 148th session of WHO Executive Board was chaired by Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Dr. harsh Vardhan via video conference.

• The WHO Executive Board session was held to discuss the direction and frame agenda to fulfil the health requirement of WHO Member nations. 
• WHO has announced the year 2021 as the year of global solidarity and survival.
• During this session, Union Minister applauded the work of medical professionals, scientists, researchers and essential workers around the world who gave their best in dealing with the pandemic COVID-19.
• He also applauded the emergence of a vaccine against COVID-19.
