Pacific Oceanological Institute (POI) of Russia.
- The POI is a research institute in Far Eastern Branch of Russian Academy of Sciences, which performs research in the fields of marine science and technology. It is comprised of 31 research units which are having modern scale devices.
- The agreement among the entities will allow the scientist and researchers from India and Russia to work in the field of marine science and technology.
- The MoU will also help to increase capacity and enhance skill development in the marine science and technology sector.
- The experts from SCIR-NIO, CSIR-NGRI and POI, Russia will collaboratively work in the areas of: Geo-resources, spatial variation of geophysical fields, marine geology, palaeogeography, environment and climate change, physical oceanography, biological oceanography, hydrochemistry, atmosphere, hydrosphere, development of oceanographic equipment, calibration and validation.
- The experts will work jointly to tackle the issue of ocean pollution and climate change.
