Defence Ministry signed Agreement with BEL

Current Context: The Ministry of Defence entered into an agreement with Bharat Electronics Limited to procure the 10 numbers of Lynx U2 Fire Control Systems i.e. LYNX U2 GFCS.
Defence Ministry signed Agreement with BEL
  • The LYNX U2 GFCS will be supplied for frontline warships of Indian Navy.
  • This will be supplied at the cost of Rs 1355 crore.
  • The LYNX U2 GFCS is basically a Naval Gun Fire Control System which tracks and engages targets amidst sea clutter. It is designed to track air and surface targets. 
  • It is indigenously designed with open and scalable architecture which adds simple and flexible implementation in different configurations.
  • This 10 Lynx U2 Fire Control Systems from BEL will be installed on Naval Offshore Patrolling Vessel Talwar and Teg class of ships.
