EESL Signed MoU with NHAI

Current Context: The Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL) has signed MoU with National Highway Authority of India (NHAI).

• The MoU is signed to build clean energy and energy efficiency interventions at NHAI structures.
• Under this MoU, both the entities will be implementing energy efficiency projects, renewable energy projects and e-mobility services as a part of the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM).
• This will lead to a reduction in dependence on fossil fuel, emissions and will help to achieve sustainable development.
• The NHAI will take the benefit of PMC (Project Management Contract) services of EESL and will offer site-related data to EESL to build the environment-friendly clean initiatives.
• EESL will also undertake solar power projects at NHAI sites.
