Current Context: The DRDO’s Young Scientist Laboratory for Quantum Technologies (DYSL-QT) has developed the Quantum Random Number Generator (QRNG).
Quantum Random Number Generator (QRNG)
  • The QRNG has the ability to detect random quantum events and convert those into a stream of binary digits. 
  • The DYSL-QT has a fiber-optic branch path based QRNG.
  • With this development, India has entered in the list of those countries which makes use of technology to achieve the generation of random numbers by using Quantum Phenomenon.
  • Random Numbers has the applications in Quantum communications, cryptography areas like key generation, key wrapping, authentication, security etc.
