5th Tiger Reserve to be Setup in Tamil Nadu

Current Context: The National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA) has given its approval to set up the 5th Tiger Reserve in Tamil Nadu.

• The Tiger Reserve of the state will surround the Meghamalai and the Srivilliputhur Grizzled Squirrel Wildlife Sanctuaries within it.
• The tiger reserve will help in the protection of wildlife.
• It will also restore the Vaigai river, thus by protecting its origins in the forest area.
