‘Aadi Mahotsav’

Current Context: The Vice President of India, Venkaiah Naidu inaugurated the ‘Aadi Mahotsav’.

• It was inaugurated at Dilli Haat, INA, New Delhi.
• It is being held from 1st to 15th Feb 2021.
• The theme for ‘Aadi Mahotsav’: ‘A Celebration of the Spirit of the Tribal Crafts, Culture and Commerce’.
• It is organised by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs and TRIFED.
• The ‘Aadi Mahotsav’ is the National Tribal Festival which promotes tribal arts, crafts, medicines, cuisine etc.
• It also promotes tribal folk dance forms and tribal artists from around 20 Indian states.
• The main motto behind ‘Aadi Mahotsav’ is to popularize the tribal community’s culture, arts and crafts to the people.
