- The inaugural session for same was addressed by Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank.
- The Hackathon is being held from 1st to 3rd Feb 2021.
- While addressing, the minister said that the ASEAN-India Hackathon will provide an opportunity to grow the partnerships of India and ASEAN nations.
- He mentioned that hackathon will be an enactment of 6 major virtues of civilization namely, Respect, Dialogue, Cooperation, Peace, Prosperity and Innovation.
- The hackathon is an opportunity for the ASEAN nations to tackle the challenges based on two themes namely ‘Blue Economy’ and ‘Education’.
- The ASEAN-India Hackathon aims to achieve economic development through ASEAN nations partnerships in domains like education, science and technology, exchange of leadership works etc.
- It focusses on agriculture, blue economy, tourism, health, environment, water and smart cities.
