- With this, Bihar has become the first Indian state to enter into such an agreement.
- The UNEP will assist the Bihar State Pollution Control Board (BSPCB).
- UNEP will offer support for: Preparation of Greenhouse Gas Inventory and analysis of carbon footprint, developing climate impact vulnerability assessments, increasing technical expertise in BSPCB to tackle climate issues.
- The UNEP will also analyse the state’s action plan on climate change which will help to coordinate India’s action plan on climate change as per the Paris Agreement.
