DRDO successfully Launched VL-SRSAM

Current Context: The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) conducted two successful launches of Vertical Launch Short Range Surface to Air Missile (VL-SRSAM).

• The VL-SRSAM was launched with the help of a static vertical launcher.
• They were launched from ITR Chandipur off the Odisha Coast.
• The VL-SRSAM is developed by DRDO and was launched for the Indian Navy.
• It has a strike range of 40-50 km and provides defence against aerial and water targets.
