Current Context: The Government of India, Chhattisgarh Government and World Bank signed $100 million projects.

  • They have signed the amount for the project called CHIRAAG (Chhattisgarh Inclusive Rural and Accelerated Agriculture Growth).
  • The project aims to develop a sustainable production system which will help the tribal community of the state to produce nutritious food.
  • The CHIRAAG project will be implemented in the southern tribal-majority region of the state, as this region is having a large population of poor and undernourished people.
  • So, this project in such a region will help the community to produce as well as consume nutritious food which will also improve their health and economic lifestyle.
  • The CHIRAAG project will prove beneficial to 180,000 households of 1000 villages of 8 districts of the state.
