  • The MoU was signed by Union Foreign Minister S Jaishankar and his counterpart Hanif Atmar.
  • The Shahtoot Dam will be constructed on a tributary of the Kabul River in Afghanistan.
  • The MoU is the part of New Development Partnership between both nations.
  • The total cost of the project is $300 million.
  • The Shahtoot Dam will prove beneficial in providing drinking water to around 2 million people of Kabul.
