Current Context: India and Ethiopia signed two agreements on visa facilitation and leather technology.

  • The MoU for leather technology was signed between CSIR-Central Leather Research Institute (CLRI) from India and Wollo University of Ethiopia.
  • The agreements were signed by the External Affairs Minister of India, S Jaishankar and Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Ethiopia, Demeke Mekonnen Hassen.
  • Both the nations agreed to boost their bilateral cooperation in various sectors like economic, defence, digital, Science and Technology, and cultural cooperation.
