Current Context: The Meghalaya state’s Police signed MoU with State Bank of India.
Meghalaya Police Signed MoU with SBI
  • They have entered into MoU to implement the e-challan in the jurisdiction of the Shillong Traffic Police (STP).
  • The e-challan system will be a digital traffic enforcement solution which will be used to impose penalties on violators of traffic rules and to generate challan in a digital manner.
  • The e-challan system is integrated with VAHAN & SARATHI applications, which will enable Traffic Officials to fetch the details of the traffic violator.
  • The integration with VAHAN & SARATHI applications will provide vehicle and driver’s details, who has not to abide by the traffic rules.
  • The violators of the traffic rules can pay a fine amount using instant card payments by swiping PoS machine or by producing e-challan at traffic unit.
