FM launched Central Scrutiny Centre & IEPFA App

Current Context: The Union Minister for Finance and Corporate Affairs, Nirmala Sitharaman virtually inaugurated Central Scrutiny Centre (CSC) and launched the Investor Education and

Protection Fund Authority (IEPFA) mobile app.

• The Central Scrutiny Centre (CSC) is an initiative of the Corporate Affairs Ministry. This centre will help to scrutinise the filings by users under straight through processes.
• The IEPFA app will develop financial literacy through investors’ awareness, education, and protection among investors. The app will help to track the status and progress of the IEPF claim refund process.
• The app will allow investors and common citizens to file a report on the suspected fraudulent schemes.
• Both initiatives will develop a new corporate and investor-friendly ecosystem.
