  • The pact is named as ‘implementing arrangement for the procurement of defence material and equipment’.
  • As per this pact, the Philippines will purchase BrahMos cruise missiles from India.
  • The BrahMos cruise missiles are produced by India and Russia jointly.
  • The pact was signed by Philippines Defence Undersecretary Raymundo Elefante and India's Ambassador to the Philippines Shambu S. Kumaran.
