Current Context: India and Australia held joint talks on Disarmament, Non-Proliferation, and Export Control. This was the sixth edition of the same.

• They held joint discussions about the issues being faced in the areas of chemical, nuclear, biological disarmament and non-proliferation, outer space security, conventional weapons, and strategic export control.
• The discussions led to enhancement in the mutual cooperation of both nations and revealed the appreciation of national perspectives and global development on the disarmament and non-proliferation issues.
• These talks also helped in contributing to the India-Australia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
