Tribal TB Initiative

Current Context: The Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan has launched the ‘Tribal TB Initiative’ with an aim to achieve the target of TB Mukt Bharat.

• In this regards, a Guidance Note on Joint Action Plan for eradicating TB was framed.
• The joint action plan is set for 2021-25 and it includes:
• Vulnerability mapping followed by quarterly ACF and TB preventive therapy
• Capacity building for frontline workers and vulnerability reduction
• Multisectoral collaboration for social determinants
• Budgeted district health plan
• Along with the joint action plan, a Special Edition of Tribal Ministry’s Publication ‘ALEKH’ on TB, and a document on Tribal Tuberculosis (TB) Initiative was also released.
